Bruckmann Ellis: Power Cruiser: 34
|
|
Mark
Bruckmann
and Mark Ellis have a long history of producing handsome and
innovative yachts, power and sail, that bespeak classic yacht quality
and style. The Bruckmann / Ellis 34, a new powerboat is a signature
piece, a sophisticated example of the combination of their well founded
views and talents. The swept sheer, classic trunk cabin and windshield
configuration, broad side decks and transom tumblehome are sure to
appeal to the experienced eye.
The new 34-footer is a hard top express cruiser built on the
successful broad chine flat hull form that Mark Ellis originated in
1994 in a 40 footer that Bruckmann built. The broad chine flat format
allows the boat to rise easily from displacement mode to full plane at
12 knots. This, combined with an entry and forward deadrise akin to a
deep vee hull and a skeg makes for a very efficient and seakindly hull.
A single Yanmar 370 HP Diesel makes for a cruising speed of 21 knots
and a top speed of 25 Knots.
The beamy chine flat form also provides roll-damping stability
that cannot be matched in a deep vee or in narrower boats, making the
Bruckmann/Ellis 34 an ideal platform for watching races or other day
cruising duty. The large bridge deck, under the hard-top, and aft
cockpit have ample, comfortable seating and amenities such as a wet
bar, that further promote this theme.
Below, a complete galley, formed in a large U-shape, will make
entertaining easy. Excellent cruising comforts for a couple include a
large stall shower and toilet room. Sleeping arrangements can either be
broad vee berths or an island double berth. Great stowage includes
ample drawer and hanging space and overhead "aircraft" lockers.
As one would expect from Bruckmann, a yard that is
acknowledged to be in the top rank of North American custom builders,
the interior of the Bruckmann/Ellis 34 shows meticulous joiner detail
in traditional gloss varnished mahogany against semi-gloss off white
cabinetry. Customers for the 34 are encouraged to personalize their
yachts through broad choices in interior layout, hardware and fabrics.
State of the art composite moulding methods utilize modified
epoxy resins with vacuum bagged foam cored construction. Carefully
planned and executed mechanical and electrical systems insure
dependable performance. The standard specification of the
Bruckmann/Ellis 34 has a long list of best quality equipment including
bowthruster, Corian countertops and Vacuflush head.
