The Sabre 452 was voted "Best Full-Size Cruiser (41-47 feet)" for 1998 by Cruising World Magazine.
Sabre commissioned Jim Taylor Yacht Design to design a 45 foot cruiser that combined performance and comfort without compromising either. Jim's work in conjunction with the work of the Sabre Design Team produced a boat that has exceeded our expectations, and which Cruising World Magazine called, "one of the year's best-sailing boats."
Cruising performance and structural integrity did not, however, come at the expense of our traditional high quality finish. As Cruising World notes, "Often, a builder will get the big picture right but fall down on the details. This isn't the case here."
The Sabre 452 embraces the standards which have put Sabre's name atop the quality spectrum of boatbuilding for the last 35 years. Current Sabre owners and those who have followed the brand over time, will see details here which make it feel familiar. Details which make sense, which add to comfort, security and well being. Logical details that, above all, make each Sabre design a great safe and beautiful sailboat.
But details from the past are just part of the story. Keeping up with technology has to go hand in hand with our desire to build the finest possible sailing yachts for our clients. The Sabre 452 hull and deck are built using vacuum bagged, closed cell, cross linked PVC Divinycell foam and structural E Glass, which gives her one of the strongest, lightest, most durable structures available today.
