Northeast 400

Nonsuch

Gordon Fisher had the Nonsuch concept and mark Ellis designed a winner. First there were four built. Ten years later George Hinterholler, North America's best production builder, had built over 1000. Experienced sailors understood at first glance. They reputed the myths that harnessed the sport for so long. They rejected the dreary and static designs perpetuated by the rating rules and their resulting affections. A new and exciting way to go sailing resulting in boats that would win races, (Off Soundings, Antiqua Race Week, Bermuda race and the Marblehead - Halifax) as well as a better and simple way to go sailing. Nonsuch is still on the right track and far ahead. A good Nonsuch is of a value appreciating and the rewards are in the sailing and comfort offered. Nonsuch is spoken at Eastland yachts in the way of advice, extensive reading material and demonstration sails. Please feel free to call.

The Northeast 400 motorsailers were conceived by Eastland Yacht, designed by Mark Ellis and built by Cabo Rico. The concept that one should not have to purchase a trawler and give up sailing was successfully realized in this mark Ellis design. Obtaining trawler speeds without rolling about and sailing with the best cruising sailboat, the Northeast 400 became an instant success. Push button sailing without leaving the cockpit, or powering from the inside steering during adversity or away from blazing sun, led to ongoing sales. We specialize in the brokerage Northeast 400 market. Call for extensive information, the design history and testimonials, owner comments as well as special photographic listings.
