The HR 40 was presented with an alternative classic layout at the Open
House weekend in August 2005. The interior offers a wider saloon and
headroom in the walk through to the aft cabin. The toilet room forward
of the saloon has a separate shower. Floor is in one level throughout
the boat and the galley is seagoing. The mast support comes in direct
conjunction with the main bulkhead.
The HR 40 has won no less than four attractive awards:
• In January 2003 she was presented European Yacht of the Year in the
largest category
• Overall winner in Boat of the Year in USA 2004
• Best Liveaboard cruising boat in USA 2004
• Sailboat of the Show in Stockholm November 2002
Improvements 2008For new orders,
there are a lot of improvements:
• Engine: Volvo Penta D2-55. Higher power and larger alternator: 115 A
• More powerful transmission; hydraulic, for extended service life
• More elegant entrance ladder with curved steps and curved side panels
• More elegant ceiling handholds with softer lines
• New design for the carpet, with something of the beautiful teak/holly
floor visible
• A mixer will be installed on the hot water calorifier, giving both
more safety and improved comfort
• Battery capacity improved from 225 Ah to 235 Ah
